Pin-drop moment

I was sifting through my LinkedIn feed yesterday when I came across this comment from someone: “I was at a regional dinner event at which Richard Goyder spoke. He was heckled by Dairy Farmers for the low cost of Milk on the shelves of the Coles stores. The response was brilliant/logical and too long to post here; however, in closing, his question to the producers was, “Why haven’t you invested in a cooperative powdered Milk production system and shipped it out to China and the world such is the demand for raw protein”. Pin-drop moment: Agriculture must (imho) entice the captains of industry to help us think, see and operate outside the normal squares”. You can read more in the last article in the Sheep section below. That got me really thinking. Yes, bemoan the things that go wrong, but once we have got that out of the road, we then need to think about how we can turn that around with something that might lead to making things better, like a powdered Milk plant. Create your own pin-drop moment. Is our thinking too shallow on the problems we have in agriculture? Should we be going deeper? Reply to [email protected]
