The need to be glass half full

Most of you reading will be in some kind of leadership role. Or if you are not, you will be one day. You will be either the boss of the show or have some other role where you are responsible for people. Being a parent is one. I read today that someone said it’s important for leaders to be positive about things; you know, a glass is half full on things. Why? Because if people are looking up to you, they will be watching your every move and any sign of negativity will be picked up. That’s doesnt mean we can’t be honest with people or tell it how it is. It means we have to find ways to portray things in a positive tone. Our body language is a big one here. Larger companies, with many people working in the organisation, talk about culture, and negative cultures are company killers. What sort of techniques do you use to get the best out of people? Reply to [email protected]
