Passion wins out

We/I get things wrong alot with our predictions. I honestly thought that Showing Sheep and Cattle would be a dead duck by now. But just reading The Land newspaper, which features the Sydney Royal Show, it's well and truly alive and kicking. One thing you can't underestimate in Ag is people's passion; I just wish the non-Ag people would understand that better. And when it comes to our Livestock, that's where the most passion lies. Hence the reason why some will go our of their way to prepare Sheep and Cattle for such events. I'd question that, in most cases, the economics would be negative on the ledger as far as the costs outweighing the benefits. But it's the passion of the people that keeps these things alive. We have a stand at the Australian Wool and Sheep Show in Bendigo for our Farm Tender business, and I am still amazed when you go down in that massive pavilion how many Show Sheep are in the space. These people would be Feeding these Sheep in a Shed for up to 12 months in advance. Personally, I can't see the commercial benefit, but what I can see is passion, and we all need to be doing things we are passionate about. What's the thing you are most passionate about on the Farm? Reply to [email protected]
