The dynamic duo

We have been talking about the Wagyu industry recently and how it’s a relatively new industry. Cotton is the same. I want to parcel up these two industries and talk about them as one because they have similarities. Dynamic is a word I would use for both. They both have must-attend conferences, and the marketing arms of each are very well-versed. Getting into each industry is expensive, so there is a decent amount of capital required to enter. That can act as a drafting race as to who comes in and who doesn’t. Because they are young industries, they lack tradition and baggage, which can also be positive, and they seem to attract the younger progressive Farmers types. They obviously work together and unite, which means that there are less politics involved. As both industries get bigger and age, they need to adhere to what made them successful and follow that recipe. Working together is the key, as Farming in Australia is more of an individual pursuit, and it’s hard to get Farmers to all agree on something. I will watch both with interest. Do you know of an emerging industry that might emulate the Wagyu and Cotton industries? Reply to [email protected]
