The taboo subject - Money

I was talking to a non-Ag person the other day, and he was calling BS on when people do business stuff, and they say it's not about the money. He wanted to add that volunteering is different, but when it comes to business and getting ahead personally, it's about the money. He went on to say that it's the reason why most people buy lottery tickets because we all want more money. Point taken, I said. And when you think about it, he's right, although I would like to think it's partly about the money and partly about the love of doing something. It's one of those human cases where the words are running in opposition to the actions, like when we enter a supermarket all warm and fuzzy, wanting to buy from those story-telling brands and walk out just buying the cheapest or what's on special. We all need money to survive and for some to thrive. When it comes to Farming, money becomes one of those topics that we like to avoid, which means it's a subject that doesn't get communicated as it should.
