Ag's Armaguard moment

I don't know if you have heard about the Armaguard story. They are the sole cash transporter for the nation's cash, and they are a business that is going broke. Lindsay Fox owns it and injected some cash recently to keep it afloat, but I don't think he will keep propping it up. But the dilemma is that the banks, the post office, government organisations, and many other outlets solely rely on Armaguard to ferry all their cash around. Take them away, and the supply chain breaks and things fall apart. The banks offered to put some money in but Fox refused their offer. Nobody wants to buy the business because it is now a loss-making concern. So someone like the big 4 banks might have to get together and buy it because they rely on it, and there is no alternative otherwise. It got me thinking when I read a story, which you can read below, about the Saleyards and how many of them are struggling. What would happen to our Sheep and Cattle industry if they all did an Armaguard and suddenly went away? There would be a major disruption to our industry. It has the potential to be Ag's Armaguard moment. Are there other things you can think of that, if they were taken away, how would it upset our Ag supply chains as we know them today? Reply to [email protected]
