Pivotable moments in Ag

We will look back at this Sheep Livestock ban as something of significance in the history of Ag, and it got me thinking what were other pivotable moments we have had that change the course of how people operated. One thing I remember well was the Wool crash in the late 80s. I remember going to the Wool sales when things were flying, confidence was super high, and we thought the good times would never end. Then bang, we had a massive oversupply of Wool stockpiled and that Wool had to come onto the market. From that point on and until this day, Wool and the Merino Sheep industry have never really recovered. We have gone from 180 million Sheep to now 70-odd million. In that time, Farmers exchanged Grazing for Cropping. The Dairy deregulation was another pivotal time in the early 2000s. Some say the abolishment of the Single Desk was a pivotable moment. There have been many others; there was a Cattle crash in 74 I think; something affected that. In all of these cases and more, Farming has moved on and used one of our favourite sayings, "found a way," to adapt and get on with the job at hand. What are some of the pivotal moments you can remember that happened in Ag? Reply to [email protected]

30-day free trial to continue - Here’s why

I just want to check with my newsletter host that I I change it to say a 14-day trial, it won’t affect all the current 30-day trials that are underway. It usually takes 48 hours for them to get back to me on something like this. Will revert.
