But what about Farming…..
When it comes to sport we are arguably the best in the world, See right at the bottom of the page where were are ranked number 1 for the number of medals per capita. In other words, we are winning a medal for every 750-odd thousand people. China is every 23.8 million people a medal. It got me thinking about Farming and how good we are at that. We always say that collectively, we are the best in the world, but most other countries will say the same. What is the measure? Is it the least subsidised paid? If that's the measure, then we would have to be right up there. Think of small businesses; those that were subsided over COVID needed to be, to stay alive, and many other companies and industries, for that matter, need government help to survive. Is it dealing with harsher climatic conditions? Yes, again, our conditions aren't as soft as they are in some countries, we would rate well there. If you surveyed every Farmer in Australia, I am guessing 8 out of 10 would say they prefer to do it without any financial help from the government. Do you reckon we are the best Farmers in the world?
