Event blueprint
Cotton Australia held an event called Camp Cotton recently. They get representatives from all the major clothing brands from around the world and bring them to Australia to give them a warts and all look at the Cotton Industry. Many of these brands are competitors, but everyone travelled as a group to learn more about the products they use and make money from. They don't just bring them to Sydney; they head bush. This year it was Narrabri, Boggabri and Wee Waa to witness Cotton being Harvested, Ginned, Grown, etc. The Wool industry has been taking their Wool customers to Woolshed for years. It's where these brands get an appreciation of where the Wool comes from and what's involved in producing it. And there is nothing more grassroots than the Woolshed. We all should be thinking about doing something like this for our own Farm or for the customers we sell to. It doesn't have to be as extensive as Camp Cotton; they obviously have deeper pockets. But anytime we can entertain our customers to get them to better understand what we do is a good thing. Camp Cotton can be a blueprint of sorts for all of us. Have you done something like this, albeit on a smaller scale, with your customers? Reply to [email protected]
