The Farmers Club

No 229 - Tuesday's Club Notes

The “Club Notes” for Tuesday, the 11th of June, 2024.

What does it mean?

As mentioned yesterday, we have come up with a new slogan, "For the curious ones". As I explained, it's a bit of an experiment to see what resonates with people. But why run with the curious theme? I think being curious in the Ag space is essential these days. We just can't rely on what knowledge we already have and what model we adopt with our Farming practises as the default for the rest of our Farming career. We need to keep looking for that edge, those one percenters that are going to add up to keep us ahead of the curve. I don't think running a Farming business is going to get any easier; we will need to keep tinkering and keep folding in the edges to find a way to a decent margin and profitability. The ones that seek knowledge will be the ones that get ahead. You will all find different ways to look for it, but my belief is you won't find it in the usual, more traditional ways, like newspapers and books; you will now find it in things like podcasts, newsletters and the better social media sites. Start recognising where you can find these nuggets of gold that are going to take you and your business forward. Where do you go looking for info?  Reply to [email protected]
