Nailing your colours to the mast

We wrote a piece in our Farm Tender Daily on Monday about how some respected Farmers got on "X" and started lauding Trump. They got some supportive and not-so-supportive replies. Take a read here. We sorta finished the story talking about airing our political views in public and how personally I wasn't an advocate for it because all you can do is create unnecessary friction. One person said this: "Hi Dwain. Nailing your colours to the mast in public isn't for the faint-hearted, and it will impact business owners, which is why most business owners keep their mouth shut on the topic" Yep, agree if you are in business and want to lose customers, start relaying your political views upon them. Another said this: "Hi Dwain. Keep up the good work on the articles. Good call re politics - a few of my Farmer mates get the sh*ts up with other mates that want to talk politics all the time…we just want to have a laugh and a beer when we catch up". Yes, who wants to get too serious about this sort of stuff? It really isn't that important; it's more take a chill pill stuff. Are our political opinions best behind closed doors, or are you happy to go public? Reply to [email protected]
