Pasture pain

We write about how good Farmers have become at conserving moisture, and we pointed out the other day how retaining Crop residue is an extremely important part of this process. This year, some might have dropped the ball a little in the South and not given residue its true worth, as many would have had good moisture from summer rains. That has come back to bite a bit where the season is tight. I am currently heading through the Wimmera area, and the Crops are hanging on, with some areas showing signs of stress. However, the Crops are well ahead of the Pastures, which have been struggling all year in this part of the world. They are very late to develop, stunted by frost during the winter, and just as they get going, the dry kicks in and without rain, it will be a cut-off spring in the Wimmera area for those with Livestock. I was thinking, how would you conserve moisture in a Pasture paddock. Lots of ground cover, I guess. Irrigate haha…. Not sure it can be done. Does anyone know? Reply to [email protected]

Welcome back 101

If you have voicemail issues, do this. It worked for me. I was told we have two voicemails, one on the iPhone and the other is the Telstra one, and this is what caused the issue. I simply deleted the visual voicemail one, which is the iPhone, which was always delayed.

If you follow the below, it will sort it all out within 30 seconds, and all your voicemails will come through straight away. Text this number, 144 (if numbers come up, just click on the +, and they will disappear). And in the message, type “VVM OFF”. Then, if you want to get your voicemails as a text, add “Audio on”. See the picture below. The job will be sorted, and you can go back to the old 101. Thank you, Darren, for sending this through; you’ve made my day and hopefully a lot of others. **Please forward this on** Reply to [email protected]
