Paying Peta so she can pay Paul

We have spoken about the money-go-round before and how sometimes you need to be paid by someone else before you can fix up your own bills. And when things get a little bit tight we see that amplify somewhat. So what I mean by that is if you have to wait that little bit longer for your payment so you can pay someone else, then the whole timeframe for getting paid can blow out. It’s a tighter time for some right now, so we are just starting to see a bit of evidence of this happening. I find most Farmers very conscious about what they owe others these days; they are very protective of their reputation of being a person that pays their bills within a reasonable timeframe. It’s important to them. But sometimes, it’s a juggling act, and we have all had times when we have been able to meet our commitments. Some Farmers I have spoken to say they get a bit anxious when they enter the office to pay the bills as the pile they might have estimated to come in at around $50k for the month might end up being $70k, such is the extra cost of things these days. I have been in that situation before, back on the Farm, and it’s not much fun. Have you had some anxious moments over the years when it comes to the money-go-round? Reply to [email protected]
