On the verge

We are on the verge of what will be the biggest thing that might happen in Agriculture that will shape the next decade. See the very first post in the “Other Ag Stuff” towards the bottom page. New Zealand is about to get full mobile across all the land mass and 12 nautical miles out to sea, so Starlink just announced. They have rolled out the direct-to-mobile satellites and are ready to go. If I remember correctly, it will be a text message first and then a call and data following about 12 months later. I am confident that we are not far behind, as they have been laying satellites over us here. I have been barking on about this for a while and many of you (including myself) don’t have very good coverage, with many not having it at all. How will this transform Ag? First, Farmers will get access to the world in real-time. They will be able to conduct business much better and more efficiently. This will allow them to get a better chance at opportunities that those with full coverage enjoy. We will be able to hook all our Machinery and Vehicles to the internet via our mobile coverage. It’s unknown where that might lead. There are so many opportunities here. As you can see, I’m excited. I will keep you posted with updates. What’s your mobile service like?  Reply to [email protected]
