Racking my brain

We have spoken about having a good name or brand for your business or Farm a couple of times before. Things like a Farm uniform can make a difference depending on what type of difference you are looking to make. You might have noticed for this little publication, I have been trying some different slogans, none of which have been very impressive. I have been racking my brain since we started out and have been writing them down in my notes app on my phone. I think I have 500. I follow a marketing guru called Dan Schultz, who runs the Ag Done Different newsletter. He is always saying you don’t do comparisons like better, bigger, most with your marketing, and you should be doing something completely unique like describing the problem you are solving for your customer. Better still, he says to design your own category and own it. I have been trying to think down his line for my slogan, but I just can’t get it. So, with all that in mind, something came to me on Thursday last week. It was this: “Not The Weekly Times but 6 Times Weekly”. Dan would be horrified because you are comparing yourself and promoting one of the incumbents, in this case, the Weekly Times. But that said I think it has a bit of humour and cleverness about it. Anyway, I have decided to run with it even though it’s way too long and make mention of someone else. You might think this slogan stuff is a bit of polony, but I think it’s very important to get right. So, “Not The Weekly Times but 6 Times Weekly” it is, for now….. Reply to [email protected]
