Will volumes shrink

Chemistry Cropping has been around for roughly 40 years, maybe more. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it started to become popular in the 1980s. Since then, our ability to Crop has changed enormously. Spray Equipment tech has changed, and it has gotten to a point now where the Sprayer is the most important tool within a Cropper's toolkit. Sprays have changed, so much so that it's a battle for even the most commited Agronomist to keep up with it all. Most Farmers have no chance; they just follow a recipe. Lots have changed on those two fronts, but how we go about it hasn't to much. It's pretty much still blanket-Spraying the whole paddock to isolate the weeds we want to take out. There is a bit of see and Spray starting to happen but it's yet to take hold. I am sure in time, it will start making inroads, and I think the key is AI and identifying each weed from each Crop plant. I think that will come. The other one is Machine weeding, which is probably more for the Horticulture guys at this point. But the question I want to know is where does that leave the big Spray companies and the retailers that distribute for them. It could mean a big shift for both those sectors. If there are fewer Chemicals needed, then their volumes will drop. Or could it be like how Electric Vehicle and how they were going to send the Fuel Companies and Service Stations to the wall? That never happened, and it's not likely to happen anytime soon. Where do you think Chemistry Cropping is headed?  Reply to [email protected]
