Griffith to Hillston and beyond

We are at a Rangeland Conference at a Property about 114.4 km out of Cunnamulla, in Queensland. We stopped at Griffith overnight and travelled up the smooth Kidman Way (Victorian road envy). The Crops from the Griffith to Hillston right through to the Lachlan River crossing you have to see to believe. They are amazing. The soils in this strip are pretty nice and conducive for growing good Crops; just add water. It reminds me of the Mallee area of SA and Vic, how they have come from something like 6-8 bags an acre on average (olden days) to where they are today through managing moisture. This year, pending frost outcomes, they will hit the jackpot. I even saw some good Canola Crops at No Hope, sorry Mount Hope. The Station Country looks pretty good as I have travelled up and down this road on many occasions, and I have seen it a hell of a lot worse. My measure for here is that there is bugger all Roos along the road, and I have had times up this way where you are dodging them every 50 metres.  Reply to [email protected]
