No 334 - Friday's Club Notes

The “Club Notes” for Friday, the 11th of October, 2024.

Pressure release needed….

We all know in some spots, people are doing it very tough. The season hasn't panned out the way Farmers have wanted, and things are going to be tight money-wise. Many have shrugged their shoulders and said that's Farming and will battle on, but some will need a little bit more help to get through. This is where community comes in. Those structured days where a Farmer or organisation would jump in a get a group of relevant guest speakers together for a day worked wonders. These were done when the season was still alive and there was still hope. But right now, many know their fate and are now facing the cold reality of it all. I have been talking to a few people about organising a get-together for your community, perhaps in a Woolshed somewhere, maybe a beer and a wine or two, a BBQ so people can just let their hair down and get around each other for a few hours one night. Remember, it's not only the Farmers who will be feeling the pinch in your community, but all the people who service the Farmers will be worried about how they are going to go over the next period. You guys know your community well, so our suggestions are just that, suggestions. For these things to go ahead, it requires someone to lead, someone to initiate. I have great confidence that once someone puts it out there, everyone will get on board. Stay together in this time of need and give people a platform for a few hours just to forget about their troubles. Let me know if you get something going, and we can promote it.
