My embarrassing mistake

I put in the newsletter on Saturday morning that The Miland Group founder Colin McKenna had passed away when he hadn't. The great meat processing pioneer has since passed away, and I am a bit embarrassed by my mistake. The mail I got came from a few prominent racing people, who got it wrong also. However, I printed it (in the paid section of the newsletter), so the buck stops with me. I hope I didn't cause any undue distress and apologise if I did. That was my mistake, and it's the sort of subject you need confirmation about. Lesson learnt for me. Back to Colin, see the post in the "Ag People" section from the Midland Group described him as their fearless leader. It's a great way to describe these Agricultural entrepreneurs because they are creating so much in such a risky environment. We featured Harry Bourchier recently in a few posts, and fearless would be a great way to describe him also. Fearless just might be the word that differentiates these great leaders from the rest of us. Colin was a friend to many, and he was a passionate racing man who ploughed plenty into the sport as an owner. Apparently, his brain cancer diagnosis was only 3 weeks ago, and now he's gone. If that doesn't make you reflect on how we should be living our lives, then not much else will. Do you have any Colin McKenna stories? Reply to [email protected]
