What's the Productivity ratio?

We put up a story yesterday about how the modern Equipment isn’t going to last the trip in comparison to the old, more simplified gear. Below is a fantastic story of longevity. How much overall value did they get out of those machines? I wish there was some kind of measure, formula or ratio we could use to outline income earned per Machine over the years. It would be off the charts. They said this: "Good morning. In 1980, we purchased a New Holland TR 85 Header. It had 2 hrs on the engine clock when we drove it out of the Dealership. We retired in 2012 and it had over 8000 hrs on the clock. It did 32 Harvests for us. Each year after Harvest, the Header was repaired as required and ready for the next Harvest. In 1978, we purchased an Upton MT 855 with a V8 Scania engine set a 250hp. It did 22,000 hrs when we retired. We rebuilt the engine at 18,000 hrs. The gearbox and clutch were rebuilt at 15,000 hrs. In 1985 we purchased a Mercedes Benz 1500 tractor. This Machine did 14,500 hrs when we retired. All our Machinery had very little technology on them and with regular maintenance and services as required gave us a long service life for our Machinery". Do you have stories of Machines getting into the ten or thousands of hours? Reply to [email protected] or 0427 011 900.
