Who am I writing to?
Shane Thomas is a US Agriculturalist who writes a weekly Ag-based newsletter, which I subscribe to. He is more into the corporate side of things than I am, and a lot of his articles are long. It's a different style to what we are doing here. He's a clever man and has developed a large subscription audience. So, I am a fan. He was originally an Agronomist, and his love of writing developed. In his latest newsletter, he did an article on who he writes to each week and it's one person. I found this very interesting as he described that person in great detail, and it got me thinking about who I should be writing to. So here we go. It would be a mixed Farmer in the Central West of NSW who is Cropping, runs a few Merinos and has a few Cattle also. They would be around 45 years of age. Politically, they would be to the right, and they would be a Renewable Energy sceptic. They would also be of the view that the climate is changing all of the time. They would understand that information is critical in Agriculture, and they would be a well-read person with an inquisitive mind. They would attend half a dozen off-Farm events each year to expand their knowledge. They would have played sport locally and now are involved through their kids. They would be a community leader on some committees as a volunteer. They would be viewed by their peers as a successful Farmer who is always looking to improve. That's mine off the top of my head.
