3G why?

Does anyone know the answer as to why Telstra closed down the 3G network? I did google it after I wrote that, and it said this: "Telstra switched off their 3G networks to boost the capacity, speed and reliability of their 4G and 5G networks". But many people have reported that their mobile service has worsened since the switch off. I was talking to one Farmer over Frances (SA) way, and the phase-out has cost him $12,000 to update his 10 Centre Pivots with the right software for 4G. I am sure this is not isolated. I will be honest in saying our coverage has actually got better; we do have a booster in the house though. But there are some positives on the horizon. As we speak, Starlink is placing direct-to-mobile satellites around the place and has been testing them with encouraging results. Sometime in 2025 looks to be switched on a date. Under this new system, we will get coverage everywhere. That's what Farmers and the Agricultural industry have been yearning for since the mobile network started. So, won't that be a blessing? See below in the "Other Ag Stuff" section for a bit of a rundown on how this Starlink system is going to work. Has your coverage worsened or gotten better since the switch off of 3G?
