The day the cricket world stopped

This one is not an Ag or Farming one, but it was pretty darn powerful. It was an interview on the radio (no, not the ABC) I heard on Wednesday evening, which was the 10-year anniversary of Phil Hughes's death on the cricket field. What a tragedy. It was with Darren "Chuck" Berry, who was coaching SA at the time when Phil was one of his star pupils. They got on really well. Chuck is still haunted by the incident and finds these anniversary dates very difficult to deal with. He was also at the scene when David Hookes was killed in a one-punch incident. Take a listen here. It's a gripping interview. I remember the day when he died. I was president of the Yarrawonga Mulwala Cricket Club at the time, and he died on the Thursday, which was the main training night for all our senior and junior teams. I just remember how ashen faced some people where, and I can't remember if we trained or not, but it was a surreal experience that affected us all. Make sure you find time to listen.
