Sampling stand Shenanigans

They used to be a pretty airy and small building, the sampling stand at the local Silo. But things have changed. My guess is that since Trucks have increased in size, Grain segregation and specifications have become more complex, and the general need for Air Conditioning on a hot day, the Sampling Stand have changed. In my day, you stopped the Truck, jumped out, maybe even helped take the sample, and watched them do the sampling, and maybe, just maybe, you would try and sway them to let you in the next best category. It could be awkward because there were normally other Farmers there as well; they were pretty communal places. I am not really certain how they work these days, but my guess is you don’t get out of your Truck, and trying to sway the Sample stand operator would still be on the cards. But I am hearing complaints from Farmers that there is variability in testing, and that can make a big difference to what that Truckload is worth when we have a falling numbers scenario like we do now. Farmers can get a bit hot under the collar, in this situation. Is the sampling model working, or do changes need to be made? Reply to [email protected] or 0427 011 900

Excited about the next member’s draw

We had 2 very happy winners of the combined 15 slabs of beer or wine equivalent. Both are beer drinkers and are buying from their local pub or bottle shop.
