Traits like a pro athlete

For some reason, there haven’t been as many good and interesting Ag Podcasts around in the last couple of months. But one I came across on Saturday was compelling listening. It was on The Rural Sales Show podcast that featured Joe Messina. Joe was born and lived in Australia until his early twenties and then took off to Canada, where he ended up in the Machinery sales game. I have had a few things to do with Joe over the years, and I always thought of him as diligent, but when I listened to his story, I learned so much more about him. Joe gives us a rundown on how he goes about selling Machinery and the lengths he will go to to put himself in the best position to make a sale. I’d compare his commitment to something akin to a successful professional athlete, such is his dedication to his craft. If you are in sales or looking to enter into that area, make sure you have a listen; in fact, listen 2 or 3 times. It would be a great listen for Farmers as well, as they would get an understanding of what someone at the top of his game does. They could then take that information to the next encounter with a salesperson so they could play the game a bit. Take a listen here or check out the Podcast review below.
