Reflections of 2024

I’m not normally a reflections person who likes to look back too much or read about how the year went, etc, etc, but this time I did. So, I just want to reflect on how our Farm Tender business went this year. It's probably been one of the toughest years in the 12 we have been in existence (I get a bit of recency bias). And it's interesting to reflect on when we were in the good times and how we did business then, and I have to say, we were pretty loose in our approach, and we stayed in that the-good-times-will-just-keep-rolling-along mode. I recently heard the saying that success is a poor teacher, and we can vouch for that here because we have had successful times, and what did we learn, bugger all. But now we are learning so much and setting rules around how we want to operate in the future, good times or bad. It's been a priority of ours to retain our people, and we have cash reserves put away just in case things stay tight. We have always operated between zero and bugger-all debt, and that's a bonus in these times. We have made the necessary adjustments around our costs to a point where they won't affect our ability to earn extra revenue when things start improving. We roll how the Farmers roll, and our core areas of SA, Vic, and Southern NSW have had a less than favourable year. It's been good for us to slightly remodel how we do things and put into place displines and rules we want to take into the future. It's been a fun thing to go through. I think we have all enjoyed the challenge. That's my business reflection on 2024. What's your been? Reply to [email protected] or 0427 011 900

Members draw winner, and the next draw

Winner - Alan from Vic - I spoke to Alan late yesterday, and he was wrapped at winning. Looking forward to driving him and the person he invites up to Kerin Ag soon.

The Next Draw - I'm feeling in a good mood, so the next draw will work like this. It will have two parts. The 1st draw will be a 2 × 6 months subscription (2 draws) to this newsletter for non-subscribers that sign up as a paid subscriber (Remember, 30 days free) between now and 3 pm Friday the 3rd of January 2025. They will go into a mini-draw. Eg, if 20 people sign up in that time, 20 will go into the draw for the 2 x 6-month subscriptions. The odds of winning are short. The 2nd draw will be for all current subscribers (minus the ones above) for a 2 × 6-month subscription (2 draws) that they can give to someone (family member or friend) they think might be interested in receiving the newsletter. Drawn 3 pm Friday the 3rd of January 2025.
