One Farmers weed is another Farmers feed

Weeds are the bain of a Cropping Farmers life and can also be a pain for the Grazing fraternity. I was talking to a Sheep and Cattle Farmer a few weeks back, and he was saying the new property he bought is loaded with Bathhurst Burr, Horehound and the like, and he will carefully manage the new block for 3 years with the aim being 1 thing, to rid of all weeds. The Cropping guys have been fighting with weeds since day dot and the advent of chemistry Farming has helped, but it also leads to other issues as well. The war on weeds is an inexact one; some Farmers are vigilant, and others are less so, which can be a source of frustration, especially if they are next door to each other. I know one Cropper is so hell-bent on eradicating weeds that he hand sprays around every tree on the place, and let me tell you, it's a big place with many trees. It's like an addiction for him, but he has the cleanest Crops, which could be at the expense of something else like ground cover, as he burns his Stubbles each year. There are always compensations. It's also a case of someone's weed in another person's feed. But we all have that one weed that annoys us the most. Mine was Horehound. I hated the stuff.
