Before we start, I just want to let you know to keep an eye out for Saturday morning's edition. It will be a little bit different to normal. Keep an eye out. Now, on with it - I have a Farmer mate who is in his early 70s and pretty fit in both body and mind. However, he has a few mates that aren't going as good. So what he has been doing is rallying the troops (mates of these mates) and jumping in the car and going to meet them on their own turf. It's not just a fleeting visit. They will usually stay overnight, take them out to dinner, head down to the local for one or two, or take them for a drive somewhere just to take their mind off their illnesses and to put a smile on their face. This guy runs a pretty big Farming operation and, with no kids on the Farm, relies on his trusted employees to keep things going whilst he's away. He's the sort of guy who loves Farming, and at 70-odd, you would think he would slow down, but he still loves getting in amongst it. Yes, he now specialises in a handful of things, which is what you do when you are closer to the end of your Farming career than the start. But taking time out for mates, whether they are sick or not, is such a great thing to do. There is alwasy someone out there doing it a little tougher than you.
