The most noble thing....

I got to do a bit of driving over the weekend, so that means I get to binge on podcasts. And yes, I did binge, and the first one I listened to, I pushed repeat 4 times. It was The Rural Sales Show podcast that featured selling guru Simon Bowen. Take a listen here. I’d never heard of Simon until I listened on Saturday morning, but he has a great way of explaining how sales or selling works. Simon believes that free enterprise (business) is the most powerful force on the planet, and selling is the most noble thing we do. It was truly fascinating and I will listen to it again when I can write the long list of takeaways down. We sorta talk down selling in this country and relate it as something other than noble. You might be a Farmer and think that you don’t really need to be a salesperson. I disagree. But whatever the case, you still need to know how the great salespeople go about their craft. My takeaway is that selling is more about human psychology and understanding how humans think. Simon spells it out beautifully. Make sure you listen to this one.
