Droving Sheep

Droving Sheep is one of those necessary jobs, as there are times when we need to get them from point A to point B. If you are a Sheep Farmer, it's something you just do. Farming is full-on, and all go, go, go these days, and some find Droving Sheep relaxing, but only if it's a nice quiet road or lane. The slower pace allows them to think, to read or perhaps listen to a podcast or two. But, if the road is busy, you are constantly on edge, as you have this thing that you don't trust any vehicle that comes along. You get the people who want to get through the Sheep by tooting the horn, and at times, they do go through the fence. I remember one Farmer who was on edge all the time when Droving Sheep, and he would do the nana (as in banana) if anyone put any through the fence. Even I, an experienced drive througher was nervous when driving through his mob. Then you have the ones that go to slow, and they end up spreading the mob right out. I remember part of our Sheep Droving route used to include crossing a highway, that is next level again. No matter how many Utes you had with flashing lights or how many signs you had, some still wouldn't slow down. We used to make sure we had humans waving their arms. Do you find Droving Sheep relaxing? What disasters have you had when driving Sheep? Can you trust the driving public?  Reply to [email protected] or 0427 011 900
