No 625 - Friday's Club Notes (Free)

The free version of “Club Notes” for Friday, the 26th of September, 2025.

We've been writing about how the Chinese are ramping up their Machinery industry, and they have their eye firmly focused on Australia. Apparently, their stuff will be equivalent to what we have now. That's a wait-and-see for me, but if they can produce the goods at half the price, then they will be considered despite the generational stigma we have with anything Chinese-made.
Do you sit on commodities? We write about a couple of Farmers who use commodities as cash, and whenever they need flow, they sell some off. One Farmer uses Wool and another Farmer uses Grain. These are deliberate strategies with unique outcomes. Subscribe, and I will send this story to you. Remember, 30 days free, quit whenever you like.
What a week for the Wool market. Let's put that aside for the moment. We wrote a story today on how the Wool Market has changed and how those who have redesigned their Merinos so that they make most of their income from meat and surplus Sheep, Wool then becomes very valuable to them as a cream on top thing. We outline a few situations where Wool is completely unprofitable and why they are turning their backs on this fibre that we built our nation on. Very interesting.
Do you know what I have discovered in this Farmers Club subscription journey? That if people want to subscribe, they will do it when they are ready and only when they are ready.
Do you know what else I have discovered? That someone else's words of endorsement are much more powerful than anything I can say or write.
Are you in the Cattle game? Gee, it's impressive at the moment. The Bull sales are flying, and both stud and commercial Breeders are investing heavily in genetics. We reckon there is one thing that has taken some of the boom and bust elements out of the industry, made it more consistent, and given its participants more confidence. We write about that particular key element in today's full edition.
Have a great Friday and start your day informed.
