I got a bit of a wrap over the knuckles from one of our subscribers yesterday, well, not really, it was more a bit of advice about being too political and giving Albo too much stick. I get it, but who wants to be a fence sitter and have others push you around? We have to have an opinion on things and encourage others to have an opinion. It keeps things interesting. Do you agree?
I’d describe what we do at The Farmers Club as important work. Each day, we aggregate all the positive news, the best ideas, the most informative info and the most impactful stories all into one spot for you to consume. It’s important work because you become informed. Subscribe and start your day fully informed.
I listened to the Head Shepherd podcast on the runner yesterday morning. It was the one where Mark Ferguson (CEO and founder) explains what they do at Nextgen Agri. I don’t know if I was more exhausted by the run or just listening to the number of projects they have going. It’s a full-on business. We wrote about it today.
Well done to Nikki Lyons on setting the 9-hour Merino Lamb Shearing record of 502 at my old stomping ground of Marnoo. That’s a mighty big effort.
Speaking of Shearing, in the wake of Carkson’s Farm, we think that there should be a reality show on TV called The Shearing Show. I reckon it would be hugely popular. I have been observing Shearing events at places like the Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show, and they are consistently standing room only. Clever, creative people who will turn it into something worth watching. We wrote a proposal on how it might look today.
Former Victorian Premier scorned the federal and state government for gifting big wods of taxpayer money to struggling big manufacturing businesses, some that are owned by very profitable multi-nationals. We wrote a story on this government money-go-round debacle this morning.
Have a great Thursday, and remember, you can start every day fully informed.
