  • It's Melbourne Cup day, and Paula and I are off to the Cup after an 8-year absence. We wrote the other day about committing to some events and making sure you go no matter what, because you always have fun. Well, today a couple of mates have a horse running in the Cup. So we are going to support them. This could be one of the biggest days in their lives, and we want to make sure we are there. How exciting for them. Oh yes, I nearly forgot, the horse is Torranzino, and at the time of writing, it was $34 the win, and $9 the place. It likes the wet (after about 40mm of rain), so have a little bit each way. Go well.

  • Our brand new mini podcast called "End of Message" has been popular. They are short, sharp and to the point phone conversations with someone about any Ag-related topic. Today, we spoke to Michael Bagshaw about how things are going for SA Farmers. Subscribe to listen to the new mini-podcasts.

  • Speaking of podcasts, they have been a bit of trial and error for us. But the other day I worked out that the Ute is the best spot to do them from. We wrote about it today, and what are the weird spots you do something from that it wasn't designed for? We give some examples in the article.

  • In the last six months, I have never had so many small business people offer a cash option for doing a job. Is cash becoming more popular again as costs rise? We wrote about how it works for Farmers in today's edition.

  • Have a great Melbourne Cup day, and remember to subscribe to start every single day fully informed.
