They say knowledge is power, but I'd probably put it a little differently. Knowledge gives you the opportunity to be creative, and you need to be creative to solve problems. Start each day loaded with knowledge so that you can have answers to the issues that affect you.
Allan Parker is the guru of negotiation, but there is a new kid on the block. I heard a podcast featuring Jess Weiss, who has a great technique for those heavy conversations we need to have from time to time. Her negotiation style would be a great way to initiate Farm succession. I think she's onto something that would help us produce better outcomes. We wrote about it today.
Machinery buying habits are changing. We have noticed that more former new buyers are hunting in the used Machinery market. They have changed the rules. But you still need Farmers to buy new to sustain the used market. We wrote about it today.
We talk about the green line a lot (see the image below), but what about the red line? The slippery slope. Who wants to be there? And we all would have been there at some point in time, and it's not much fun. Today's business landscape is different. We recently shared a snippet from an Ag coach that resonated with our subscribers. The coach was saying his clients continue to do a good job at growing revenue, but at the same time, cash flow and profits are dropping. He explained very well why. It was the sort of knowledge that gets you off the red line.
I nearly blew a thong the other day and thought I needed to keep a spare pair for blowouts. It got me thinking, what do Farmers keep as spares? We wrote about it today.
Have a great Wednesday, and subscribe to keep yourself fully informed.
