No 476 - Wednesday's Club Notes

The “Club Notes” for Wednesday, the 2nd of April, 2025.

By Dwain Duxson - An Ag Enthusiast

Well that was fun

I have got to be the worst prankster. I am one of those guys who will attempt a prank but pull out at the last minute. Some people do pranks like a poker player and pull them off magnificently. This April Fools’ one I pulled yesterday when I said that we won't be doing funnies anymore because people had complained worked like a treat. I hatched the plan a couple of months ago, and to my surprise, it worked, although I did fall into old habits by putting a disclaimer at the start of the funnies, which is just me hedging my bets and giving away the answer immediately after I ask the question. But on a more serious note, it was the replies that shocked me, not that people didn't realise that it was an April Fools joke or April 1, but the genuine appetite for the funnies and a good laugh first thing in the morning. I have only ever had a few people reach out to me and say how much they love the funnies, but this confirmed that we are onto something here. I even had a guy who gave up on the subscription the other day because he was fully out of Farming now say to me, "I'm going to miss the funnies, though". It also gives me a good laugh when I go searching for them each day. Farming is a serious business, and we all need some lighter moments during the day. See the replies below; they are gold. For those not in the Club, this is only one of the reasons why you should be…. The funnies ain’t going anywhere. Reply to [email protected] or 0427 011 900
